Course Content
The Diploma in Yoga Teaching is led by Sue Finch. Whilst studying dance in 1990 Sue attended her first yoga class, igniting an interest that saw her yoga teaching journey begin in 1995. Over the past 30+ years Sue has developed her practice; studying classical yoga with the Sivananda organisation (amongst others) across India, and Ashtanga yoga and meditation in the Himalayan foothills.
Sue has practised and taught yoga in many countries including India, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Recently, Sue completed a masters degree investigating (and finding) positive benefits associated with yoga on stress reduction and sleep quality.
Sue is passionate about the authentic practice of yoga and developing teachers who will share the benefits yoga offers. She notes that yoga enables people to develop their strengths and find comfort and support during challenging and changing times. Additionally, Sue notes that yoga is a cost effective, non-pharmaceutical complimentary treatment that when practiced mindfully, has no negative side-effects and multiple benefits in physical, mental, and spiritual health.
The practice of yoga ''empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing'' according to Sue, who believes that ''yoga is for everyone'', because, as the saying goes: If you can breathe you can do yoga!
