Why Fitness Matters
Fitness for me is a tool. It's a tool that allows me to improve my life and the lives of others in a positive way. Through fitness I have increased my confidence, reached my goals, learn, and experience things I'd never be able to otherwise. Fitness allows you to learn more about yourself, build positive and empowering habits. The habits you build can lead to reaching and surpassing your goals. You can build great relationships through fitness, with encouraging people and growing opportunities around you.
Why I'm Working at NZIHF
One of my favourite things to do is to share what I've learnt with others. While I was working towards getting my personal training qualification and throughout the time I was personal training at Les Mills and online, I have always taken to time to help others learn and grow. I feel a great level of satisfaction after a trainer has improved their training or business or just themselves after having a consultation with me. After I came to the conclusion that mentoring up and coming personal trainers is something that I want to do, NZIHF was a great place that provides me the opportunity to do exactly that.
How I Work with Students and the Industry
The way I like to work with students is to provide them with a practical understanding of all areas of fitness. I do this through sharing my experiences and the experiences of others I've taught. I like to empower students to think critically and rationally to develop a deeper understand of ideas and topics that gauge their interest, as well as show them how to think and work in different way that will benefit their growth as people and personal trainers.
